2014 CERTIFICATION FOR QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR WELDING ISO 3835-2:2005 BY LLOYDS REGISTER

De Haan Speciaal Equipment BV is ISO 9001-2008 certified and has the GSI SLV welding certification. The quality of our products is consistently high and continuously monitored. 

2013 INTRODUCTION OF NEW VISUAL BRAND IDENTITY

In 2013 we analysed the company’s image in detail. The result was a completely new visual brand identity: recognisable worldwide, referencing a valuable history. 

2013 IMPLEMENTATION OF QRM MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (QUICK RESPONSE MANUFACTURING)

De Haan Speciaal Equipment BV introduced the QRM (Quick Response Manufacturing) production method in 2014, which was then integrated into the operating process.

2009 NEW CONSTRUCTION HALL (3,700M2)

2008 NAME CHANGED TO DE HAAN SPECIAL EQUIPMENT BV

In 2010, the name De Haan Musselkanaal was changed to De Haan Special Equipment BV. 

2002 CONSTRUCTION OF NEW PRODUCTION HALL 1,750 M² - TOTAL APPROXIMATELY 5,400 M² (CRANE CAPACITY 48 TONS)

Five years later, we began the construction of a new production hall, bringing the total production surface area to 5,400 m2. The crane capacity was raised to 48 tons in order to move the ever larger and heavier hook blocks inside the building.

1997 RELOCATION TO CURRENT LOCATION (PARCEL 10,000 M² – PRODUCTION HALL 2,800 M²)

The growth of De Haan resulted in a restructuring process.  In 1997, De Haan moved to the current site in Stadskanaal, with a 10,000 m2 parcel and a 2,800 m2 production hall.

1988 FIRST CONTRACT WITH OEM CUSTOMER (KRUPP)

Not long afterwards, the contract for delivery of hook blocks was signed with the first OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) customer Krupp, and from then on De Haan produced all hook blocks for crane manufacturer Krupp. 

1987 PROFILING AS CO-MANUFACTURER FOR THE CRANE INDUSTRY

In 1987, De Haan profiled itself as the co-producer of hook blocks for the crane industry.

1985 SUPPLIER OF HOOK BLOCKS TO CRANE DEALERS AND IMPORTERS.

Supply of hook blocks to crane dealers and importers began in 1985, under the name De Haan Musselkanaal.

1975 START OF SUPPLY OF BLOCKS AND SHEAVES TO OFFSHORE INDUSTRY

The year 1975 saw the start of the supply of hook blocks and sheaves to companies in the offshore industry. 

1960 MANUFACTURER OF LOADING AND UNLOADING GEAR (WITH HOOKS AND EYES) FOR SHIPS

Five years later, the production of loading and unloading equipment began as well, including sheaves, pulleys and hooks, and the De Haan Musselkanaal company name becomes ever more widely known.

1955 MANUFACTURER OF STEEL WIRE ROPE SOCKETS

In later years the rope yard's product range was expanded by adding attachment materials and other equipment.

1945 MANUFACTURER OF ROPE ACCESSORIES

Our company specialised in manufacturing rope according to traditional methods. Our success factor was the company's site on the Groningen-Ter Apel canal, used at the time for transporting peat from the bogs.
